Trident Aqua Services has developed pioneering technology for freshwater treatment against sea lice and AGD. The company continues to invest in advanced deck equipment from Evotec. With hose reel solutions for raw water supply, cranes, and deck machinery, Trident ensures safe and efficient operations – while enabling gentle fish handling.
“We are very proud that Trident Aqua Services has chosen Evotec as the supplier of advanced deck equipment for several vessels in their fleet,” says Håkon Woldsund, VP Sales & Marketing at Evotec.
Trident Aqua Services was formed through the merger of Intership, Aquaship, and FSV Group, creating the world’s second-largest maritime service provider for the aquaculture sector.

Evotec’s deliveries include custom-engineered hose reels for supplying raw water to reverse osmosis (RO) systems on Inter Atlantic and Inter Scotia, with additional installations planned for the newbuilds Inter Alba and Grip Discovery from the Sefine shipyard in Turkey.
“The hose reel solution allows raw water to be sourced from greater depths, providing better control of water quality for freshwater treatments – a method Trident considers gentle in combating AGD (amoebic gill disease) and sea lice,” Woldsund explains.
“The systems have performed as intended, with no major technical issues or safety-related incidents. The crane packages will be brought into operation when the first newbuild is delivered at the end of the month,” adds Stian H. Engjaberg, COO Deputy – LFC North Atlantic Region at Trident (pictured at the top of this article).
In addition to hose reels and crane packages, the deliveries also include deck machinery packages. The same configuration will be supplied to newbuild 808 at the Zamakona shipyard in Bilbao.
“One of the advantages of sourcing multiple packages from a single local supplier is the availability of parts and expertise throughout the operational phase,” notes Woldsund.

The deliveries will be showcased during Aqua Nor 2025, where both Evotec and Trident will be present. Trident will also host the christening of Multi Frontier and Multi Challenger at Brattørkaia in Trondheim on 19 August – a highlight during the world’s most important aquaculture event.
“We assess all equipment with a critical eye towards safety, development, and efficiency. Evotec has passed the needle’s eye for our ongoing projects, and will certainly be considered for future conversions and newbuilds,” concludes Engjaberg.
